Please vote for DRC to receive a grant from the Skills and Opportunities Fund

A funding application to the Skills and Opportunities Fund by Disability Resource Centre has reached a short list of projects in the Midlands and East region.

The next stage is an online public vote and DRC need to get as many votes as possible by this Friday (19th June 2015).

DRC’s Fundraising Officer, Jenna Wills is encouraging partners and supporters to go online and vote for our application before the deadline:

“We would like to use the funding to run six 12-week courses, open to any disabled person with an impairment or long-term health condition who is looking for work. Our innovative courses focus not only on developing employability skills and moving people towards work, but also on wrap-around services to promote positive health and wellbeing. We address motivation, confidence and self-esteem, condition management, safety, equality and support issues. We expect 72 disabled people to complete the course, with over half of these going on to secure employment, volunteering or training opportunities.”

If you would like to vote for DRC’s innovative project, please visit the website link below.

When you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is a list of the projects. We hope you will click on DRC and then press the ‘VOTE’ button. The whole process takes literally seconds.
