Solihull Girls Can is a new contract around health and fitness activities for women aged 16-45 years.

A number of opportunities, particularly Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ campaign, have arisen where physical activity and sport can be used to support local people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles. Solihull Girls Can aims to maximise these opportunities.

A physical active lifestyle is a key factor to improving and maintaining health. An active lifestyle can include participation in everyday activity (such as brisk walking, cycling or heavy gardening), active recreation or organised sport. 75% of the population believe that physical activity is good for them, yet in Solihull (like the rest of the UK) only 26.7% of adults participate in either active recreation or sport three times a week or more. However, it is worth noting adult participation levels have displayed an upward trend over the last 3 years and represent top quartile performance nationally.

If your club, organisation or project is interested in becoming a partner of Solihull Girls Can, with your current planned activity, please complete the expression of interest.
