As part of our celebrations in our 10th year we thought it would be nice to look back at some of the fabulous organizations we have worked with to help shine a light as we come out of the lockdown and pandemic restrictions.

The Olive Branch (at Three Trees)

The Team

Husband and wife team Richard and Janine Dutton were looking to create a soft play area at their local church when the opportunity to run a community cafe was suggested to them. As both were trained chefs, it was an offer they couldn’t refuse.

DISE Support

DiSE worked with the team to develop a business plan and marketing strategy, which was funded through our work on the Community Enterprise for Success Project.  “It’s a great feeling to be running a business in the community where we live and to be so well supported by the church, local people and the business initiatives.”

DISE made the whole experience of starting up less scary and helped us do all the paperwork, pointing us in the right direction every step of the way.” Richard and Janine, Olive Branch Kitchen CIC

Success

Since opening in 2013 the Olive branch has been a huge success story, supporting new jobs (three full time staff and many trainees) and has grown year on year. The Olive Branch pride themselves on providing a friendly service with freshly cooked healthy meals throughout the day.

Bouncing Back

Being a seated hospitality business the Olive Branch has had a difficult time over the Covid-19 pandemic and it has been closed for most of the year, we’ve missed them and the wonderful food they provide. We caught up with the directors recently and they are looking forward to re-opening once restrictions allow (17th May 2021) and we’ll certainly be popping in for our breakfast, lunch, fabulous coffee and of course the friendly environment.

Why don’t you pop in too, they’d love to see you!
